NANETTE LATTA - HIGH PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR

Over the last 20 years Nanette has worked as a High Performance Manager, Sports Scientist, Exercise Physiologist and Strength and Conditioning Coach in Elite Sporting teams such as the Newcastle Knights and North Queensland Cowboys NRL teams, Queensland Academy of Sport, International Rugby Academy, GWS AFL Academy, Margaret Court Tennis Academy, National Masters Hockey Teams and one on one with many AIS scholarship athletes.

She has a Masters in Strength and Conditioning and has worked with individual and team athletes and in all levels of athlete development. Nanette is currently the High Performance Director of the Sunshine Coast Sports Institute located within the incredible new O2 Performance gym in Bokarina.

Nan’s passion is working with athletes of all ages and abilities focusing on educating them on how to train safely and effectively while teaching them the attributes required to reach both their training goals and to have positive growth mindset in their day to day environment!

ELKE PARKER - EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST & STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Elke is our ESSA Accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist at the Sunshine Coast Sports Institute and SmartaSport. Elke currently is the manager and lead exercise physiologist at SmartaSport Exercise Physiology Clinic at Maroochydore within Dan Everson’s Podiatry. 

Elke has extensive experience working with a variety of populations and offers a wide range of services. She holds an ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Certificate, which she employed to start up our Sporting Performance Programs within multiple schools on the Sunshine Coast. Elke’s passion is to work with clients who struggle with behavioural issues and or disability. 

Working with athletes and clients with disabilities to improve their daily activities and sporting performance is her passion. Her primary goal is to assist clients in gaining independence through exercise; assisting with daily activities and strengthening areas of the body that general exercise programs may overlook. Elke is a firm believer in empowering her clients to take charge of their own health and movement through education and movement development. Our athlete’s are encouraged to utilise her skills in performance rehab and chronic pain management when looking to return to sport.

BEN NORTH - EXERCISE SCIENTIST & STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Ben is our Lead Exercise Scientist at SCSI and our School High Performance Program Manager. Ben strives to improve access to exercise and high performance programs to all student body, teachers and parents. 

Ben currently manages our three performance programs at highly recognised schools on the coast. He also delivers one on one strength training at 02 Performance with his more advanced sporting clientele. Ben has previously professional development history working with Sunshine Coast Falcons, Caloundra Lighthouse Club and the Maroochydore Swans Rugby Development program.

JARROD BOLTON - HIGH PERFORMANCE CONSULTANT

Jarrod Bolton is a qualified exercise scientist with a wealth of experience and knowledge giving him the ability to safely and effectively guide athletes to their maximum capacity.

Jarrod has worked with some of the most decorated sporting teams across Australia and New Zealand including the All Blacks, Hurricanes, Junior Wallabies, and Melbourne Storm.

He is currently completing his Masters in Exercise Science at Edith Cowan University and works with athletes on an elite level to help them unlock their potential. He has coached athletes in schools across the Sunshine Coast, focusing on strength and conditioning, athletic development and injury rehab.

CAMPBELL GUTHRIE - HIGH PERFORMANCE COACH

Cam is our Exercise Scientist’s who manages one of our school programs within SCSI. Cam is currently in his third year of study to become and exercise physiologist. 

Cam is an Accredited Exercise Scientist with in-depth experience in several sports, including Surf Lifesaving, Kayaking, Water polo, Swimming and Soccer. He is passionate about assisting young  local athletes to achieve their full potential and is keen to continue expanding his skills and expertise in the industry so as to assist his athletes in reaching their personal goals.

MELISSA BUTT - STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Mel is a well known Sunshine Coast local and was recently awarded the Netball Queensland 2019 Community Coach of the Year. Mel is passionate about developing athletes in our region.  Mel Butt is an ASCA Accredited and Registered Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach.  Mel also holds a Cert III & Cert IV in Fitness and is a currently undertaking the Netball Australia Advanced Coach Accreditation Program.

In 2011 Mel commenced her career as a Personal Trainer at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, working with Miguel Rojano. In this time Mel has trained people from all walks of life, as well as emerging talented athletes. Mel’s quiet patience and ability to connect with and understand people is one of her strengths.

Most people will recognise Mel from her heavy involvement in netball on the Sunshine Coast. During Suncorp Super Netball season, you will find her sideline at games in her role as Sunshine Coast Lightning Away Team Liaison.  Mel is a Sunshine Coast Representative Netball Coach, Netball Queensland Community Coach, School Netball Coach for Matthew Flinders Anglican College and Senior Club Coach for Flinders Netball Club.  Mel is heavily involved with Talent Identification for Matthew Flinders and Sunshine Coast Netball programs

ANDREW KWINTOWSKI - STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Andrew is new to the SCSI team. He is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at UniSC, has a level 2 running coach qualification with Athletics Australia and is in the process of finalising his Strength and Conditioning Level 1 accreditation with ASCA. Andrew has a keen interest in physiology research and endurance sports. He loves helping young athletes set and achieve their goals through targetted and consistent training.

Andrew is a nipper dad and volunteer Surf Life Saver at Metropolitan Caloundra where he also trains the 1 and 2km beach runners and leads a weekly community run group. You might find him running on a trail or lining up at an ultra marathon race.

GEORGIA BUTT - ADMINISTRATION

Georgia has been an athlete with the SCSI since its inception on the Sunshine Coast. She was involved with the USC Thunder Ruby squad in 2021 and 2022, and has been in the Queensland Netball squads in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She is now in the Carina Leagues Club Tigers squad for 2023 after relocating to Brisbane to begin her studies at UQ in Exercise Physiology.

Georgia is looking forward to studying Exercise Physiology at The University of Queensland this year and is excited to continue to learn all she can from the best in the business. She currently works behind the scenes in administration and social media management. She completes data collection, client processing and program management. As well as creating content for our social media.
